08:54 pm: I'm really not liking CDs at the moment. I don't know what it is with this recording, but as I lisaen to it, I find myself thinking that it's really not all that great, but I know the preformance is because I went to a concert of these guys. Twice. And it rocked my socks. Maybe it's just choral music.

To explain: I have a MN Boy Choir CD (containing the Ultimite Alphonse Elric song, Wanting Memories). And it's not as good as the live preformance. Which I saw last sunday. Um, not yesterday, but the 10th.

*yawns*
And 3 more userpics, YAY.

06:35 pm: I do belive I have spent more time at the mall this weekend then anywhere else. (excepting sleep).

Shopping with Rachel was a success.

05:56 pm: So. We had our dress rehersal today for the big choir concert tomarrow. We were okay, but let's just hope that the saying "a bad dress rehersal means a good preformance" holds true for the guys.

*sighs*
5 days till break. Gah. Let's hope I don't snap before then. We have TWO tests on the day before field day. X.X

06:49 am: Oh dear. I got tagged.
The rules: If you get tagged, you must post an entry listing 5 "weird habits" that you posess. Then, you must pick 5 more people to tag, and list their names at the end of the entry. Leave a comment on their site, saying "you've been tagged" and tell them to read your journal for the rules.

NOTE: I did not nick all these from [info]warcraft. Really!

02:50 pm: Okay. You know the phrase "someone just walked over my grave"?

Well, I swear my grave is in an intersection. GAH. It's not just the cold, because this happens all year round!

03:07 pm: Christmas Shopping!
So I went down to Grand and did some shopping. Bought pressies for only one person, but found some lovlies for others. The Avada people were very helpfull with Lucy's presents, and the guy at the running shop was helpfull with Mum's HR monitor. The Yarnary was oddly crowded today, and Rach's gonna' smack me for not getting her enough yarn for a scarf or anything very big. Yanno' I love living near Grand- it's really nice to go see all the little independent shops. I broke down and got a ring I'd been eyeing, and tried on a spiffy blazer which I'm going to get when I save up a bit more. Also, I really like J Crew. Sad but true.

11:18 am: I'm teaching my brother to DDR. It's very cute. ^_^
(he's two, btw)

06:36 pm: Lovely day~!
I
a) got my letter jacket. *glee*
b) got invited to a party.
This is oddly glee inducing, because for most of my scholastic life, I've been antisocial, and never really invited to much.
c) got PSAT scores.
This is wonderfull, because I got a 99th percentiale on crit. reading, 98th percentiale on writing and *coughs* 68th in math. Overall, top 10 percent of students. W00t!

Also: got candy. ^^

06:50 pm: Balthazar Disdain the Lemon
This is not only the title of a lovely painting by Ursula Vernon (see: metalandmagic.com), but also the title of something I wrote. It was an assignment for GS, and while it is not long or particularly noteworthy, here it is:

04:21 pm: Chickpea!
Excuse me, but I must dork now.

Okay- ya'll know the diffrence between a rough, working translation and a polished one? No? Okay then! A working translation is more literal, with the wonky Latin idioms and requires a good understanding of Latin/Roman Culture and my brain to follow. A polished one is one that you might sell. And because Anna and I have spent hours slaving over this thing, I feel the need to share.

Cicero's First Oration Against Catiline, lines 525-561, translated by Forst and Anna DM
[just for a brief intro, Cicero is playing mindgames to get Catiline out of Rome b/c Catiline is shaking things up politically, most notably trying to get all debts repudiated. The "they" Chickpea is refering to is the senate- most famously, they are all avoiding Catiline like the plague and not speaking in his defense at all. Cicero is swinging this as assent.]

08:33 pm: Reindeer Run: Yay, fun!

It was snowing heavy all day- bleh. Freezing cold, but the race was fun. It was huge! It was like being at a parade and looking over the crowd, for miles except we were all shuffling along togeather. It opened up a bit, but I'm very glad it was a fun run, because the crowd added at least 10 minutes to my time. But when we got there we registered and reported to the costume contest and then found our team. We didn't get any prizes for costumes, but people kept stopping us and saying how cute they thought we were. ^_^ Yay for late-night runs on Target. I even had a little penguin stuffed toy that carrols.

There were Marines there too- they were running Toys for Tots, and a bunch of them also ran in the race. It was hilarious when Julie (a member of our team) got stuck in the middle of them for a bit. She was this big sploch of red and white in the midst of all this green... it was great. My personal favorite part of the race was that I finished before the Marines.

08:48 pm: Oh yeah- Mom wants publicity.

http://lazydaisyknits.blogspot.com/

See my mom. See my mom knit, and obsess over it. See picture of me swathed in running gear.

08:36 pm: So we have the Reindeer Run on Saturday. Apparently it's tradition (?) to dress up funny, and me and mom are planning to go as penguins. Eeeee! yay!

Running tonight went well. Flip, I'm tired tho'. Think I figured out the breathing thing- gotta start slow and steady, with deep breaths like I'm singing. Didn't even stich up untill the last 5 minutes.

First Deacon's Meeting tomarrow.

I need to send in Detour registration. XX

We now have a floor in our kitchen. Cream and Black tiles. Very nice.
I also need to find more Whistle! manga. Or fanfic, eaither way. (It's on Yuletide listings, eeeeeeiii!)
I hate Mondays.

05:18 pm: gah.
I am rarely so thankful for my parents and how they've raised me. And allowed me to read whatever I wanted and trusted my good judgment and ect on choosing good books. That may be stemming mostly from my own (purportedly) good sense, but still.

Also: Sheer bloody minded belief that one is aabsolutely right with no room for questioning scares the crap outta me. Remind me, how have I stayed good acquaintances with this girl again?
